Welcome to the Matz Fantasy Bingo!What is a ship bingo, you may ask? It's an event to bring more fics into this world based on a selection of a 5x5 trope bingo card. Each square of your randomised card will contain a single prompt to inspire your fic!If you can’t make it to 5 fics for a bingo line, don’t stress—this is a low-pressure, fun community event! Every fic you write is another victory for Matz lovers everywhere.What do I get if I complete a bingo? - You can request a new card one time only up until the mid-point-check-in (however, if you've previously completed one or more squares on your old card, you will have to write new fics to complete the same squares again)30.08.2026 - Sign-ups close and event start

FAQ

1. Who can participate?
- Anyone with an AO3 and/or a Twitter (X) account can participate.
- You must be 18 or older due to NSFW content being allowed in this event.2. Bingo Requirements
- You must complete 5 fics in one row on your 5x5 card to achieve a standard bingo.
- You can use 1 fic per square, or use 1 fic for multiple squares if it features those tropes.
- Even a single fic that legitimately features 5 connected tropes can earn you a bingo.
- To claim any square, that trope must be a core element of your story!
- Feel free to aim for multiple rows or a full 25-square blackout, but there is absolutely no pressure to do so! Just write at your own pace and have fun!
- Refer to the example bingo card below for what counts as a bingo (every possible horizontal, vertical or diagonal line counts):

3. Tropes & Fantasy Elements
- The trope/square you choose must be a central element of your fic. Simply mentioning a keyword like "vampire" or "dragon" once in passing will not count!
- Non-inherently magical squares (e.g., Pirates or Royalty) must still include some fantasy elements, such as magic-users, mythical creatures, or an enchanted high-fantasy setting.4. Word Count
- Each AO3 fic must be at least 1,000 words
- There is no maximum limit, though shorter fics/oneshots will be easier to handle within the timeframe of the event!
- Twitter threads do not have a word count minimum, but make sure it's an actual thread fic and not just a scenario/fic prompt. You can also create a socmed AU if you want.5. Main Pairing: All fics must feature Matz as the main, central relationship. Other side pairings are allowed, but the core focus must remain on Hongjoong and Seonghwa.6. Accounts & Communication
- AO3 Account: All works you post on AO3 will be hosted in our official AO3 collection.
- Twitter: Fic threads on Twitter are going to be reposted by our Twitter account.
- Active Contact: Please fill out the Google form in order to leave your contact data so that you can receive your bingo card.

Rules

Sign-Ups & Start: You may begin writing as soon as you receive your bingo card, but posting only starts on 30.08.26.Adding to the AO3 Collection:
- Bingo fics on AO3 must be posted to our official AO3 Collection to count
- Just post your fic as you normally would but: scroll down to the Associations section in the work editor.
- In the Post to Collections/Challenges box, type: MatzFantasyBingo26
- Post your work as usual. It will enter the collection and await an admin's approval for it to appear!Twitter threads:
- For a fic posted on Twitter to count towards your bingo, include the hashtag #MctzFantasyBingo26 in either the first or second tweet of your threadAuthor's Notes:
AO3: In the summary or top Author's Note, explicitly state which bingo square the fic is fulfilling (for example: Matz Fantasy Bingo — Square: Dragons).
Twitter: For Twitter threads, please also include which bingo square your fic is fulfilling in either the first or second tweet of your thread.
Tags: Please tag appropriately, including all necessary content warnings, ratings, and ship tags. We also recommend adding the trope tag on AO3 (e.g., Alternate Universe - Dragons) to help readers find your work!Allowed content: We are not policing content, so post whatever you want at your own discretion (rate and tag accordingly) as long as it's your original work and free of any AI use :)We suggest creating an AO3 Series for your event entries (for example: Matz Fantasy Bingo 2026) to keep your bingo fics neatly organised in one place!
